Prior to founding MZ, Gabriel was the creator and game designer of America's Army Arcade Edition at Global VR, a leading US coin-op manufacturer and the U.S. Army's Office of Economic and Manpower Analysis. Before embarking on the America's Army project, Gabriel was a game designer at Tsunami Visual Technologies, where he amassed deep game design and monetization experience. Earlier in his career, Gabriel also worked on various coin-op games for Atari/Midway Games. Gabriel was recently named as one of the 100 Most Intriguing Entrepreneurs of 2015 by Goldman Sachs at their fourth annual Builders + Innovators Summit.
Prior to founding MZ, Halbert was a Senior Software Engineer at Global VR, where he was the lead developer for a tools and technology platform that shipped titles such as PGA World Tour Golf, NASCAR, Vortek II, and Need For Speed: Carbon. Prior to Global VR, he was a Software Engineer at Signature Devices, a company building military simulations and first-person shooter games, where he was responsible for writing multiple tiers of their proprietary game engine including the Sound System, UI System, and tools integration. Halbert holds a B.A. in Applied Mathematics with an emphasis in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
Kristen joined MZ in early 2015 after serving as a company advisor for 2 years. Prior to joining MZ, Kristen founded and led Goodwin Procter's California employment law and trade secrets practice. Before founding Goodwin Procter's employment and trade secrets group, she was a Partner at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, where her practice focused on advising emerging technology companies, both private and public, in all stages and facets of growth, including company formation, retention and development of employees, strategic partnerships, M&A and IPOs. Kristen was repeatedly recognized as a Northern California "Super Lawyer" and was named multiple times as one of the Top 50 Women Lawyers in California.
Before joining MZ as CFO, Eric served as CFO and COO of Tanium, an enterprise software company. He has also served as COO and CFO of Polycom, CFO of Electronic Arts, CFO/COO at McAfee, and President/CFO at MicroStrategy. Eric was the co-founder of the online analytics company Datasage. Eric serves on the board of directors and the audit committee of Electronics for Imaging. Eric received a BS in Chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
Before joining MZ, Deepak was VP of Business Operations at Outspark, a leading publisher of free-to-play MMO games, where he was in charge of performance-driven user acquisition, retention, BD as well as BI analytics. Prior to Outspark, he led strategy, planning and business operations for EA Online as Director of Strategy & Planning. Prior to EA, Deepak founded a mobile social games company called Hovr, where he formed partnerships with over 60 game developers to offer 700+ mobile games in a social community with millions of users in a freemium and ad-supported model. Earlier in his career, he was a technology venture investor at Technology Crossover Ventures, and a technology investment banker at CSFB, DLJ and Wasserstein Perella. Deepak holds a B.A. in Economics and Mathematics from the University of Rochester.
Prior to joining MZ, Francois was the Database Architect and Evangelist at Sun Microsystems and prior to that, he spent more than 20 years in senior staff engineering and architect roles at companies including Sybase, Cloudscape, Oracle, and many others. Francois has extensive experience working with databases and infrastructure development, honing his expertise in distributed data management systems, scalability, security, resource management, HA cluster solutions, and connectivity services. He also worked with VISA International and VISA USA to implement the first VISA Cash virtual ATM for the Internet and founded a VC-backed startup called Unikala in 1999. Francois holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering and Computer Science from the Paris Institute of Technology.
Before joining MZ, Tory was General Counsel of Cypress Semiconductor (CY), where she also advised Cypress's three privately-funded subsidiaries, including SunPower. Tory brings more than 15 years of experience advising public and private companies on a broad range of issues, including M&A, venture investments and IPOs, as well as litigation, corporate law and the prosecution and monetization of IP portfolios. Prior to Cypress, Tory practiced at Clifford Chance US and Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison. In 2012, she was named a “Woman of Influence” by Silicon Valley Business Journal. Tory earned her law degree from Stanford Law School.
Prior to joining MZ, Christian was Global President, North America for Dentsu Aegis' Carat. Specializing in digital transformation, he has led creative and media agencies and consulting teams with a track record of digital consulting, performance marketing, loyalty marketing, content creation, media investment, social media, and digital ethnographic research. Before Carat, Christian was the CEO of Naked across both Europe and N. America. Responsible for setting the vision, he presided over a fundamental shift in positioning of this famous media brand. Prior to Naked, Christian co-founded Human Digital and led the agency through its acquisition by the M&C Saatchi group. Christian comes to marketing from a military career spanning eight years and six conflict zones, three years structuring derivatives at Morgan Stanley, and two seasons in Formula 1. Christian holds a BA (with honors) from Kings College London, University of London and is a graduate of the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst.
Tim is an industry-leading Games-as-a-Service executive driving monetization, retention and operational excellence. Prior to joining MZ, Tim was General Manager for Kabam, Inc. where he headed groundbreaking MMO studios that developed original IP like Kingdoms of Camelot, Realm of the Mad God, and Spirit Lords as well as licensed games such as Star Wars™ and The Hobbit™. Prior to Kabam, Tim produced console games for over 9 years at Ubisoft, Bedlam Games, and SEGA. Tim holds a B.S. from Yale University.
Vincenzo started his career hacking the Game Boy Color in Assembly back in Italy nearly 2 decades ago. Nintendo handhelds were his obsession.
He was in the "30 under 30" list of Develop Magazine in 2011 and was offered his first publishing deal when he was 18 years old (The Fish Files, The Addams Family for GBC).
When he saw an iPhone for the first time, he jumped into mobile and worked between London, Tokyo and Silicon Valley for the good part of the last decade, before landing at MZ.
Vincenzo was previously Sr. Director of Engineering at GREE, where he was in charge of the technical teams behind multiple international SKUs. He holds a B.Eng in Software Engineering with theses in robotics from Università degli Studi di Palermo, Italy.
West serves as Senior Vice President of Human Resources for MZ and is responsible for setting the Company's overall People Strategy. As part of this MZ People Strategy, West and his HR team are zeroed in on leadership development, talent acquisition, performance management, total rewards, workforce planning, and culture and values alignment. Prior to joining MZ, West worked in the financial services sector as an Executive Vice President of Human Resources at Fidelity Investments in Boston, MA. During his 8 year tenure at Fidelity, West successfully helped build and execute a strategic workforce plan for the Company's 45,000 global employees. Before that he was a Dell EMC Human Resources Executive Committee Member, performing a variety of HR leadership roles in Austin, TX along with a 3 year expatriate assignment to Singapore. West began his career in HR consulting with Aon Hewitt and Willis Towers Watson. All in, West brings over 25 years of leadership expertise across the entire spectrum of HR disciplines. West holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Florida.
